Wash & Scrub
Put a plastic bag over the air filter & bung up the end of the muffler. Spray or brush grime and muck with Silkolene "Pro-Clean" before you get the bike wet.
Wash your bike down with a bucket of hot water. Only use additives in the water such as car wash & wax. Do not use house hold detergent as they usually contain salts which will corrode your bike's alluminium and chrome.
After washing, always remove the contact breaker cover to allow condensation to dry out. Start your bike after washing off, to disperse any moisture from around the main and big end bearings, especially if using "R" type oils which emulsify with water.
Remember to remove the filter cover & exhaust bung before you try and start the bike!
Apply Silkolene "All in one" liberally to alloy surfaces and
to the rear chain to disperse water and to prevent corrosion.
Be careful if you using a pressure washer. Do not direct the washer at engine case joints.
Polish & cherish!
We use Solvo Autosol for the polished alluminium parts and a good quality car polish for the fuel tank and other glass fibre parts.
